Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

Look what my camera did to a perfectly sultry spring dawn!

like a bridegroom

Like a Bridegroom

coming forth

Coming Forth from His Pavilion

In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion . . . It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. Psalm 19:4b-6

We are fighting a discouraging case of bronchitis here, but did have time to send a couple snaps of this glorious sunrise on this hot spring day. Enjoy!

The photos are lovely indeed. Jacob is almost 14 now, but from the time he was an infant, we attended Bible Study Fellowship every Wednesday morning. Because we live so far away, at certain seasons, we had to leave just as the sun was rising. By the time he was a toddler, Jacob loved watching “God paint the sky for him.” It’s a wonderful memory that always makes me smile. How grand when children see God all around them and believe that He is “painting” the canvas of the world for them to see. Isn’t His handiwork fantastic? 🙂

      Hello, Abigail!
I never thought of telling my children that. But then, they always wanted to know HOW God did it. I told them about light refraction, pretending I truly understood it, and they pretended they had some idea what I was talking about. My kids always were SO analytical! Never wanted to do a science experiment–just discuss the possible outcomes and why. Always why! Always how! A wonder I survived!

You make me smile 🙂 We told Jacob that God paints with His Hands. We love talking about God’s Hands and what He does with them…. and what He doesn’t do w/ them. In His Creation, WE are the ONLY part He made w/ His Hands!! All else He spoke into existence. Now THAT is too great to comprehend. We always loved “reenacting” the conversation that He and Jesus surely had when they were forming Jacob… one tiny piece at a time: How do you like these toes? Ok… not quite so long? ….Well, how about THESE toes. Yes, just right…. OK, check out these ankles and calves; what do You think? Just right? ….hmmmm muscular thighs…. and nice strong hips to support a Godly, hard-working man….. On and on we’d go, right up to the color and shape of his eyes and color of his hair. It was such fun. And yes, He paints the sky with His Hands too 🙂

Comment! Because we want to know what you think!
