TOO MUCH RAIN!

No.

We have not received too much rain.

But once, we did. And this is the story of how it went.

It had rained and rained and rained. People were griping about too much rain. People were whining and wailing about too much rain.

And then it happened.

A guy was working on his car with it propped up only on the cheap jack that comes with the car. Dangerous. As was his custom.Β To top that off, he did not have the chocks by the wheels as he should have.

You guessed it. The car slipped and came crashing down directly on this man’s forehead.

And did not kill him.

No, because we’d had too much rain, the frame of the car merely pushed his head down into the sodden earth and gave him a grisly gash on his brow. His wife was able to visit him in the hospital, where they kept him for observation, instead of at the funeral home for visitation.

And SHE thought we’d had just the right amount of rain.

Don’t we always?

People always gripe. Just six months ago everybody griped about how cold the winter was…all that 12Β° weather, triple snows, etc.

Sometimes I wonder if God doesn’t say, “You don’t like the cold, eh? Well, have some heat.”

Yeah, Andy, I know. My point, again! So, although all would agree we haven’t had enough rain, lately, I try to trust some good is coming of this, as our Father knows how to work all things together for good, right? Right!

I was reading only this morning the part where Pharaoh pleads for mercy saying – we have had enough thunder and hail! They certainly had.
In Scotland we moan too often about the weather. I have a reasonable strict policy of not complaining as it is so un-extreme. Just changeable.

    • katharinetrauger says:

Changeable! Yes! That’s what we have, too. In fact, we have the saying, “If you don’t like the weather, stay awhile–it’ll change!” I do not like the idea of griping about the weather because it scares me. It never is as bad as it could be, so why ask for change?
