Sunday Scriptures – Winter

Do your best to come to me quickly, for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me [ . . . ] When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments. [ . . . ] Do your best to get here before winter.

2 Timothy 4:9-10, 13, 21

I do love them, Kate, and thank you for bringing that to light, here. His letters to Timothy are saddening, to me, because the first one is full of encouragement and little instructions about doctrine and how to set up churches, but the second one is more a handing over of the baton, more of a charge to remain faithful as Paul sensed his own end nearing. And then, as the others abandon him in prison, there is that urgent plea for a coat and his old books, to comfort his last days . . .

Oh KT, you are officially nominated for Versatile Blogger Award. It is such an honor to know you and to read your writings. I can’t believe i’m one of the many to nominate you. But if you need guidelines to the “ropes” see my site for some tips. I know you won’t need them. Happy New Year!!! xoxoxo melis

Yes, I was nominated a while back, but thank you for thinking of me this way. I guess I am versatile, but like you, I hardly feel worthy. Oh well, we all probably feel the same way. πŸ™‚ You are a dear to nominate me and I will try doubly hard to live up to everyone’s kind opinion of me . . .

Comment! Because we want to know what you think!
