Komen Group Begins to See Light

Reposted from LifeNews.com

After years of protests and criticism from pro-life advocates, the biggest breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has announced it is halting further grants and donations to the Planned Parenthood.

Figures from August directly from the Komen for the Cure foundation show 18 affiliates of the breast cancer charity gave a total of more than $569,000 to the Planned Parenthood abortion business in 2010. That was down from the $731,303 Komen officials publicly confirmed in October 2010, when they acknowledged that 20 of the 122 Komen affiliates gave to Planned Parenthood during the 2009 fiscal year.

Now, Komen says it is halting all grants because of public pressure from pro-life groups and due to the impending investigation in Congress of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

The policy makes it so no further Planned Parenthood grants will be given unless the investigation results in Planned Parenthood’s favor. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/01/31/komen-to-stop-grants-to-planned-parenthood-abortion-biz/

If only they could admit
what
science has proven–

abortion effects an increase in breast cancer–

they would stop forever,
since they claim to be pro-woman
and anti-cancer.

But even if they do not care about the millions of tiny women-in-the-making that have been killed in this country,
it still makes no sense to use cancer money for abortion:
A pre-born baby is not a cancer.

Thanks for noticing that. Komen has such an incredible reach and does so much good. I had no idea they were putting that much money into Planned Parenthood – clearly a strong and loud advocate for abortion.

And I agree, the link between abortion and breast cancer is virtually irrefutable. It is sad how stupid we get in the face of ideological debates.

I pray their move will help save many lives of our precious unborn babies!

Thank you, Sojourner, for stopping by and for this comment!
Actually, I had no idea the Komen people gave financial support to Planned Parenthood. I already did not support them because of their refusal to acknowledge the abortion link to breast cancer. I thought it horrifically cruel to the women, not to mention the babies.
It is important to note: They still are not admitting what we all know: there is a link.
Still the current move gives some hope, in that they at least are willing to withdraw their funding of abortion while the investigations into allegations of lies, filth, and coersion are ongoing.
It could be worse. And it even could be they see this time as opportune for withdrawing on other issues besides the abortion/breastcancer link, to disassociate themselves before medical science pushes the truth any further.
As I said, they are beginning to see.

Well!!! We see how powerful the media driven pressure can be and how pro-life interests seem to be sitting on their hands. Even though they have backed down for now, they did not close the door to reconsideration. However, even if they required proof the funds were just used for cancer scanning, the availability of the Komen funding frees more of other sources to enhance their abortion mill.

The culture wars continue! But we must focus on spreading light into darkened hearts. That is the real answer!

Yes. Some people are willing to reconsider an idea when they see many others objecting. It’s that lovely freedom of speech we still pretty much have in this country. I appreciate those who are willing to listen and rethink.
I hope they listen some more, because they still are missing the main point.
Thanks for stopping by, Leah, and for this comment!

I am completely confused on Komen on this one. I mean if I’m donating money to finding a cure for breast cancer I’m not donating money for abortions, that’s not okay. If I donate any money to Komen in the future I want in writing what my money will be going to.
